The board will appoint at least five denturists who are not members of the board, one of whom will be appointed to serve as chairperson, and the minister will appoint at least two persons, who are not denturists, to represent the public interest.

Panel members are only required if there is a disciplinary matter or upon the call of the Chair. A disciplinary matter will require approximately one week of dedicated time (hearing, deliberations and writing of the decision).
Of the denturists first appointed to the panel, two will be appointed for a term of two years and the remainder for a term of three years and all subsequent appointments of denturists to the panel will be for a term of three years. Of the persons appointed by the minster to the panel, one will be appointed for a term of two years and the other for a term of three years, and all subsequent appointments will be for a term of three years. Notwithstanding the expiry of his or her term, a member of the panel continues to be a member until he or she is re-appointed or his or her replacement is appointed. Persons appointed to the panel may be reappointed.
Members of the disciplinary panel shall serve on the panel without payment for their services, but may be remunerated for service as a member of an adjudication tribunal and paid their travel and other expenses associated with the work of that tribunal by the council, in accordance with and at the rates set by the by-laws.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Denturists Board - Disciplinary Panel is seeking to fill two positions to represent the public interest. Expressions of interest are being sought from individuals who possess the background, experience and skill set identified in the board profile above and who can bring unique perspectives to the table. Consideration will be given to a variety of demographic factors to ensure the board is representative of the populations they serve.
